Michael is the Head of Finance at the Trust, and is responsible for all aspects of the Finance Department whether it be matters of financial strategy, or day to day operational tasks. Michael qualified as a chartered accountant in 1999 and worked at BDO Stoy Hayward’s charity unit working on the firm’s largest charity clients such as Macmillan Cancer Relief.

From 2003 onwards Michael left accounting practice and set up his own accountancy consultancy firm, and was the auditor of the Toni & Guy hairdressing franchise salons from 2003-2005. Michael has also accepted a number of finance director appointments within the charity sector as well as providing ad hoc consultancy to other charities.

Michael’s areas of interests are tailoring both management and financial reporting to suit a charity’s need, and devising financial control systems that are compliant, but cost effective.

Outside work, Michael enjoys travelling and is an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club.
