Paul Cuttill OBE
Paul Cuttill is Non Executive Director and Consultant Adviser to a number of organisations including Strategy International Limited trading as The D Group, one of the UK’s leading business networking organisations. In addition he is Non Executive Director with Orbital Power Corporation Ltd, a UK based company exploring the opportunities within the space based solar power sector.
Before embarking on this Non Executive career Paul completed a 31 year career within the UK Energy Sector across a range of senior appointments and Board membership with EDF Energy plc and its predecessor companies, one of the UK’s largest energy companies culminating in his appointment as Chief Operating Officer, Networks between October 2002 and June 2008.
In September 2008 Paul was appointed as a Board Member of Legacy Trust UK. In the same field Paul is Adviser to the recently launched social enterprise ‘arc: building better business’.
Between 2004 and 2006 Paul was a Board Member of Energy and Utility Skills SSC, the Sector Skills Council for electricity, gas, waste management and water, and played a major part in bringing it into being. Sector Skills Councils (SSC) have been developed by the Department for Education and Skills to boost UK productivity by delivering better skills and improved economic performance.
From 1999 and 2009 Paul was business representative on the Board of the Aylesbury New Deal for Communities (NDC) regeneration programme for The Aylesbury Estate in the London Borough of Southwark. This period culminated in his appointment as Chairman of The Creation Community Development Trust – the successor organisation for the management and delivery of the NDC.
Between December 2006 and September 2008 Paul was a Founder Member of the Mayor of London’s Skills and Employment Board and has been Vice Chair of the Advisory Panel to the UK Government on the issues of Leadership and Management set out in the skills White Paper ‘Skills for Productivity’ published in March 2005.
In June 2004 Paul was appointed by HRH The Prince of Wales as an Ambassador for Corporate Responsibility in the London Region.
In the 2005 New Year Honours list, Paul was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the energy industry.
