Tate Movie wins gong at Broadcast Digital Awards

17 June 2011

Last night the team from Tate and Aardman who have been working for the last 18 months on the Tate Movie Project won the Best Content Partnership Award at the Broadcast Digital Award ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in London. The Broadcast Digital Awards is one of the most anticipated events in the UK digital broadcasters' calendar. These are the only awards to fully represent the ever changing digital market, celebrating the best content and delivery across the UK. The Awards brought together just under 500 of television's most influential individuals to celebrate and recognise the achievements of 19 of the most innovative and passionate broadcasters and programmes.

Congratulations to the team. More information about the Tate Movie, which will premiere in Leicester Square, London on 29 June and will have its first public screening on 23 July in Traflagar Square as part of Open Weekend, the Cultural Olympiad celebrations of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, can be found at www.tatemovie.co.uk. The project has been made possible through £3million of funding from Legacy Trust UK. BP, as one of the Premier Partners of the Cultural Olympiad, is providing further substantial funding and is also making possible the screenings and workshops at Trafalgar Square on 23 July. As well as broadcast support through CBBC and the entire project being recorded by Blue Peter, BBC Learning has produced fun, accessible resources for kids and teachers alike.
